Frequently Asked Questions
DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION?
YES, we pick up at all hotels or condos on Seven Mile Beach as well as cruise ship passengers.
DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION FROM RUM POINT OR EAST END?
NO, if you are staying on island, but NOT on Seven Mile Beach, you will need to meet us at our dock located in Cayman Island Yacht Club. Just advise us when making your reservation and we will provide directions.
CAN YOU PROVIDE PICK UP FROM RUM POINT?
NO, But if you are booking a PRIVATE CHARTER and are staying on island in East End, Rum Point or Bodden Town you may choose to have the boat meet/pick you up from Kaibo Marina. This will come at an additional US$50 cost (for fuel/time/transport) however, could save you an hour or more (each way) driving to our dock in West Bay. This is for private charters only (not available for jet ski tours).
DO WE HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR TRANSPORTATION?
NO, unless you booked a private charter with over 55 people in your group, all prices include transportation to and from Seven Mile Beach or downtown George Town.
HOW MUCH IS TRANSPORTATION IF I BOOKED A PRIVATE BOAT CHARTER WITH OVER 55 PEOPLE?
Please contact us for actual rates as amounts vary based on the actual size of your group and pick up location.
WHAT IF I HAVE MY OWN TRANSPORTATION AND WANT TO DRIVE, CAN I MEET AT THE DOCK?
YES, our tours leave out of the Cayman Islands Yacht Club (“C Dock” 164 Yacht Drive, West Bay) which is just a 5-10 minute drive from downtown George Town and Seven Mile Beach hotels. Just let us know you prefer to drive and we will provide directions with your booking confirmation.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE MUST I BOOK?
We require 24 hours advance to book and confirm your reservation. You can call ANYTIME to see if there is space available. We recommend you book EARLY for busy season (Christmas season/New Years and Spring Break).
DO I PAY A DEPOSIT?
NO, we ask for a credit card when you book to hold the reservation, however, nothing is charged until we collect payment in full, which is done 1 day or 24 hours prior to your tour.
WHEN DO I PAY FOR THE TOUR?
We collect payment in full, with the credit card provided when booking online. We will charge the card 1 day or 24 HOURS prior to your tour. We will have receipts for your records available on the date of your tour.
CAN I PAY WITH CASH OR DIFFERENT CREDIT CARD THAN THE ONE I BOOKED ONLINE WITH?
YES, Credit cards WILL BE charged IN FULL 24 HOURS prior to your tour. If you prefer to pay in cash (US$ or CI$) or with a different credit card, you may bring it with you and we will collect in full for the tour with your preferred method. We will then refund/cancel the origional credit card charge. We do not accept American Express.
CAN I RESERVE FOR A GROUP BUT PAY SEPARATELY?
NO, We will charge your card in full 24 hours prior to the tour, so we highly recommend only booking for those you intend to pay for. If you have a group and would like to pay separately, have each person reserve online separately. If you want to ensure you are on the same tour, just send us an email and we will coordinate with you.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
You must cancel 48 hours in advance to incur no charges. If you do not meet the 48 hour deadline you will be charged 50% of your total booking. Cancellations less than 24 hours prior to tour or NO SHOWS will be charged in full.
IF I GET SICK THE DAY OF THE TOUR OR JUST DECIDE I DON’T WANT TO GO, WILL I STILL GET CHARGED?
YES, Unfortunately, there are times where we can’t foresee something that will prohibit you from going on the tour. However, the way we reserve is first come, first serve and we NEVER over book. So, what that means is that if you reserve a jet ski, that will be saved just for you and we will not be able to rent it out to anyone else. If you decide you do not want to go or can’t make it, the credit card on file will be charged in full and no refund will be given (see cancellation policy).
WILL I BE CHARGED IF MY CRUISE SHIP CANNOT STOP AT GRAND CAYMAN?
NO, you will not be charged for ship cancellation, bad weather causing tour cancellation or equipment failure.
IS MY TOUR CANCELLED IF MY CRUISE SHIP IS LATE OR COMES TO CAYMAN ON A DIFFERENT DAY?
NO, do not automatically assume your tour is cancelled if something changes on your ship. In most circumstances, we are able to modify your booking and get you out on a different time or date. If this happens we ask you contact us ASAP and let us know. We will do our best and work with the delay/itinerary modification and get you out. If this happens, call us at +1-345-925-5273.
HOW DO I GET BACK ON THE JET SKI WHILE I AM ON THE TOUR?
Getting back on a jet ski does require some upper body strength. There is a small platform on the back of the jet ski with a handle. EVERY rider needs to be able to pull themselves onto the platform to get back on. We will have a guide to assist you, if you need some help, however all riders need to be physically capable to pull their full or partial body weight. At Stingray City and Starfish Beach the water will be shallow enough that the ground can be used to push, however when snorkeling the ground cannot be used as you will be in about 10 feet of water.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LOCAL TIME AND SHIP TIME?
The Cayman Islands does not observe Daylight Savings, therefore we are the same time as Eastern Standard time half the year (in the Winter) and the same time as Central Daylight time the other half the year (in the Summer).
From mid March- early November (Summer), The Cayman Islands time will be an hour BEHIND Eastern Daylight Time Zone (Ships leaving from Florida) and the SAME time as Central Daylight Time Zone (Ships leaving from Texas).
From early November- mid March (Winter), The Cayman Islands time will be the SAME as Eastern Standard Time Zone (Ships leaving from Florida) and an hour AHEAD of Central Standard Time Zone (Ships leaving from Texas).
WHAT DO WE NEED TO BRING WITH US?
All you need is a swimsuit, towel, sun block and a big smile. All your snorkel equipment and live vests will be provided for you. If you have your own equipment please feel free to bring it. Optional: bottle of water and a waterproof camera.
CAN I BRING ANYTHING ON THE JET SKI WITH ME?
There is a small dry box on the jet ski (about the size of a car glove box). You can store small items such as a camera, wallet, shirt etc. This compartment will stay dry as long as you keep the jet ski upright. All other items can be kept in our storage trailer at the dock that is kept locked during the tour.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO DRIVE A JET SKI/WAVERUNNER?
Sixteen (16) years old is the minimum age to drive alone.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO GO ON A JET SKI/WAVERUNNER TOUR?
We recommend a minimum age of five (5) years old to join us on our tour. Every child must ride with parent or guardian.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WAVERUNNER AND A JET SKI?
Well, essentially they’re the same thing, it’s just that each manufacturer has a different brand name for their products. “Waverunner” is simply the trademarked name of Yamaha’s version while “Jet Ski” is Kawasaki’s name. “Sea-Doo” is yet another company’s name (Bombardier Recreational Products). Basically, they’re all Personal Water Craft or PWC’s.
DO YOU PROVIDE REFRESHMENTS?
YES, on private boat charters we provide coolers with fruit punch and water for you to help yourself.
WILL YOU HAVE A PHOTOGRAPHER ON THE BOAT?
NO, not unless you request one. We can have a photographer on board to be there to take the unforgettable look on your face as you mingle with the stingrays. Just let us know you are interested!
